In Dec. we moved onto 7 acres with a 3/2 double wide on it, at the time we weren't sure if we would like it out in the country or be able to do the 18 mile drive in 1-3 times a day. We are getting used to the drive(that would be me since I'm the one who drives it the most)and the kids are getting used to not having their friends over All day, Every day! On Friday we signed the papers and if all goes right we will be owners of our own little homestead in the Ozarks! We have planted 4 trees already,2 Red buds and 2 Maples and have started work on the butterfly/hummingbird garden outside the kitchen window. We have plans for a chicken/rabbit house, a lg. garden, worm beds, a cord wood garage , a new deck, an outside eating area, various animals and their housing. When all this will get built is the great mystery but that is the fun of it all. When we lived in the apt. I felt there wasn't much to do, I couldn't change things much, anything we did to the outside didn't stay around long due to the neighborhood kids and it wasn't ours! Now the possibilities are endless, we can change what we want, grow what we want(long as it isn't illegal) and build what we want, of course this is all subject to money/time/ability. I know a lot of what we talk about might not happen but it feels so good to dream and plan about it all, it has a better chance of happening out here than it ever did in that apt. we existed in!
